Organizing Your Kitchen Space

Whether you have a large kitchen with an abundance of storage space, or a small kitchen with limited space, there are many benefits to investing in additional storage solutions. These space savers and organizers free up your counter space, provide easy access to items, and organize your existing space so it is more functional.

A junk drawer is usually necessary in a kitchen to hold twist ties, rubber bands, scissors, matches, batteries, pens, and just about any other odds and ends you can imagine. To organize this you should thoroughly go through these items and get rid of any items that do not belong there or that you do not use.

If they are in working condition, you can donate them or give them away to friends or family members. The key here is to eliminate the junk, and keep only the things you use.

Storage containers are an easy solution to storing leftovers in the refrigerator and to maximize the space in your pantry as well. Consider eliminating bulky packaging by transferring food items to clear, easy to view food storage containers.

Spice racks are a great way to store your spice collection. They generally require less storage space than loose bottles, and they group your favorite herbs and spices in a convenient organized storage system.

This makes them easy to locate and retrieve while you are cooking or baking your meals. Spice racks come in a variety of sizes and shapes.

There are spice stands that revolve, wall-mounted shelf models, plastic drawer tray inserts and stainless rack components that hang on the wall above the counter to accommodate individual magnetic spice containers. First, you will need to consider where you will store spices.

You can put them in a cabinet, on a shelf, wall, or right on the counter. The most convenient place to keep spices is close to your cooking/baking area or range.

Places to avoid are directly above the stove or in front of a sunny window, because heat and light speeds the deterioration of spices. Once they lose their potency, they should be replaced.

Once you have decided on a type of rack, measure the space to know your storage limitations. If you are planning on a stand, measure the maximum allowable height and make sure you will not be placing it inconveniently in front of an electrical outlet.

Allow room for the stand to spin freely. Often times wine bottles and wine glasses are stored separately, due to lack of space, but there are other options.

You could consider storing them together in a stylish wall-mounted wine and glass rack. This is a great way to showcase your style and tastes that is both functional and affordable.

A great way to keep your pots and pans within reach and to maximize your space is to consider a pot rack. Another option is to store them in your lower cabinets using roll-out storage to provide easy access for your pots and pans.

Under the sink is a good area to store detergents, soap bottles, and kitchen cleaning supplies. Organizing around the exposed plumbing is a challenge of the past when you consider an expandable sink shelf.

It is affordable, fits around your plumbing, and is expandable. This could also work well in your bathroom sink cabinet.

Plastic wrap, wax paper, aluminum foil and storage bags can take up a lot of room. This is intended to be a quick and convenient item, and in order to maximize your space while providing easy access, consider using a wrap organizer.

Grocery bags can easily accumulate and turn into a big mess unless we keep them in order by utilizing a bag holder. Another option is storing the bags in a paper shopping bag, but this will take up more room than the bag holders.

Investing in storage products is an easy and effective way to keep you organized. It provides a place for things to go, which is the key to keeping clutter at bay.

It also saves you time by not having to search for your items. The storage products you choose should be solely for your convenience.

Since there are so many affordable options available, it is worth taking the time to find the product that fits your needs and budget. Remember there are many different options and many different things to organize.
